Yvonne Wall Siggelkoe, 90, beloved wife of the late Robert M. Siggelkoe, passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Masonicare in Wallingford. Born in Birmingham, England, on June 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Doctor Ernest A. and Doris G. (Young) Wall. Her family moved to the United States in 1927 after several years in North Africa running an orphanage for young boys. Yvonne grew up in New York and Connecticut and graduated high school in West Haven Connecticut. As a young woman, Yvonne worked as an executive secretary for Metro Goldwyn Meyer in New York City and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Siggelkoe, upon his return from serving overseas in World War II and a week after his graduation from college. Yvonne and Bob had two children and raised their family while moving from New York to Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, and New Jersey. Once her children were older, Yvonne took positions as church secretary for several churches and was active in many charity organizations. After moving back to Massachusetts, Yvonne and Bob retired to New Hampshire and later to Ashlar Village in Wallingford where Bob passed away in 2003. Yvonne spent the last years of her life surrounded by good friends and family. Yvonne was a great cook and was known for her excellent apple pies. She enjoyed playing pool with her friends, was an avid reader, and traveled extensively. She is survived by her son Russell A. Siggelkoe and his wife Teresa of Westford, MA; her daughter Carol Albanese and her husband Gerard of Portland, CT; four grandchildren: Rebecca and Erik Siggelkoe, Alyssa and Zachary Albanese; a brother-in-law Thomas Camper; a sister-in-law Janice Wall and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Deryck A. Wall and sister Beryl P. Camper Her funeral is private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
