Obituary

William Jachimczyk, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday July 23, 2017, after a brief illness. He was the dearly loved husband of Barbara (Bochnik) Jachimczyk for 45 years.

Born on September 28, 1948, the son of the late Henry and Mary (Kiertz) Jachimczyk, Bill grew up in Meriden, graduated from Platt High School in 1966 and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. He and Barbara made their home in Wallingford for the past 38 years where he owned and operated WJ Metal Spinning.  A hard worker, Bill created a wonderful life for himself and his wife.  Whether he was sitting on his deck watching the sunset, placing bets at the roulette table during frequent trips to Connecticut and Las Vegas casinos, or enjoying time with family and friends, Bill loved his life and lived it fully. Beach Boy concerts, Fourth of July fireworks, a ride to the beach in his convertible or even grocery shopping on Sunday had a place in his heart, but it was sharing every moment of life with Barbara that made him happiest of all. A loving and devoted husband, a cherished brother and uncle, and a dear friend to so many, Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Jachimczyk is survived by his sister Regina Beaudry and her husband Kenneth of Meriden; his nephew Adam Beaudry and his wife Michele of Delaware and their children Brandon Beaudry and Katilyn Hahn; two sisters-in-law: Janice Grasser and her husband George and their daughter Arlene Grasser and Marilyn Adler and her husband Dr. John Adler and their son Trip Adler and his wife Sierra, and their daughter Dr. Brittany Adler and her husband Dr. Mark Yarchoan; his mother-in-law Helen Bochnik and many well-loved cousins. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Henry Jachimczyk, Jr. and father-in-law Michael Bochnik.

His funeral will be held on Saturday July 29th at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
