Obituary

Willard L. "Bud" Ryan, 84, beloved husband of Barbara (Krystofolski) Ryan died peacefully on Thursday November 5, 2015 at his home. Born on January 17, 1931 in Ossining, NY he was the son of the late Leslie and Alma (Bliss) Ryan. Bud attended local schools in Ossining. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bud was employed as an engineer for New York Telephone from where he retired in 1992 after 36 years of service. He was a resident of Meriden and Port Charlotte, FL. Bud was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. He enjoyed fishing and "the sport of kings". A loving husband, father and grandfather, Bud will be greatly missed. Bud is survived by his children: Rebecca (Brendan) Miles of FL, Willard (Doris) Ryan Jr. of FL, Randolph Ryan of Syracuse, NY, Wesley (Michelle) Ryan of Westchester, NY; a brother David (Carol) Ryan of Danbury; four stepchildren: Edward (Lynda) Smith of Clinton, Margaret (Dean) Leighton of Wallingford, Teresa Smith of MT, Paul (Victoria) Smith of NH; fourteen grandchildren: Jesse, Douglas, Justin, Breanna, Joshua, Cassandra, Timothy, Trevor, Tyler, Miranda, Kelsey, Megan, William, Austin and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Paul M. Ryan and his sister Grace Fitzgerald. His funeral will be held on Monday November 9th at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday afternoon November 8th from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
