It is with great sadness, we report the passing of Walter James Koskie, 77, after a long illness. He was the loving husband for 43 years of Nancy Philippi Koskie and the only child of the late Walter and Helen Crean Koskie (Kwasniewski).

Walter was born in Meriden, CT. and a graduate of St. Stanislaus Parochial School, Maloney High School, Laurel Business College and The Electronic Computer Programming Institute. He was employed in IT at Corbin Russwin in Berlin, CT, Envirotest Systems in Hartford, CT and Agbar Technologies in Rocky Hill, CT throughout his many working years.

Wally is survived by devoted cousin William Forte and his wife Pamela; and their children Matthew, Jeffrey and Christopher of Wallingford, CT, his cousin Alice Nell and her son Jim of Milwaukee, WI; and very loyal best friend David Kahl of Sebastian, FL; and many second cousins. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sherry Schwink (Stephen), Jane Yost, and Janice Kirby (Dale) and their families. He was predeceased by his cousins Donald Crean, Maureen Crean Cassidy, Patricia Gindel, Walter Crean, parents-in-law Robert and Harriet Philippi; brothers-in-law Robert Philippi, and Steven Yost; and many beloved aunts; and uncles, especially Aunt Bea, Uncle Eddie, Aunt Millie, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Margie.

Wally enjoyed power walking, swimming, golfing, building model airplanes (Sky King), flying small model airplanes, woodworking, where he was a master at finishing unfinished furniture, going to the casino (where he would go home immediately if he won anything), watching the Rifleman daily and attending the concerts of Bob Segar, Huey Lewis and the Beach Boys. He loved vacations to Florida and Las Vegas and tolerated travel to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, California, Aruba, Grand Cayman’s and the Bahamas for his wife’s sake.

We love flowers, or donations can be made to St. Faustina Parish, Meriden, the Meriden Soup Kitchen, or the Meriden Humane Society. Many thanks to his caretakers at Complete Care in Meriden, especially Keisha, Lydia and Diana for their devotion in his care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden. There will be no calling hours.
