Vincent Guy Vecchitto, 85, of Deep River, formerly of Meriden, loving husband of the late Evelyn A. Vecchitto for 63 years, peacefully entered eternal rest, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden, surrounded by loved ones.
Vincent was born in Meriden, January 9, 1941, a son of the late Vincent Sebastian Vecchitto and Mary (Commesso) Vecchitto and had been a Meriden resident for many years. Vincent was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was employed as a stone mason until his retirement.
He is survived by his two sons, Louis J. Vecchitto and wife Emma, Paul Vecchitto; and his daughter Arline Bruenn (Michael Kuehn); his daughter-in-law Annette Vecchitto; and two grandchildren Paige E. (Shaun M.) Roberts and Christopher Vecchitto (Tamara Cranston-Vecchitto). He is also survived by his sister Diane Tirado; his great granddaughter Emily Evelyn Roberts; and his step great grandchildren Jade Norris and Jaxon Cranston. He was predeceased by his son Joseph Vecchitto; his brothers; and sisters Thomas Vecchitto, Bruce Tirado, Francis R. "Butchie" Vecchitto, Josephine Foster, and Phyllis D'Agostino.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at CT Baptist Home in Meriden for the care and compassion given to Vincent. We would like to thank his primary physician Dr. Ersa Hatiboglu of Durham for her dedication and compassion throughout the years taking care of our father.
Vincent's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Vincent may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT. 06450, or the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B, Southington, CT. 06489.
