Theresa Sofia Ackley LaPlante, 81, beloved wife of the late Francis LaPlante died on Sunday May 19, 2013 after a lengthy illness at the Curtis Home in Meriden, CT. Born on December 12, 1931 in Rutland, VT she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosa (Zingalli) Sofia. Theresa was a longtime resident of Meriden where she, her husband Francis and son Carl, started a Masonry & Waterproofing business in 1969. Theresa enjoyed cooking, shopping, dancing and loving her granddaughters. Mrs. LaPlante is survived by her daughter-in-law Christine Ackley of Meriden; her two cherished granddaughters: Amy Ackley York and her husband Richard and Lysa Ackley Arthur and her husband Edmund; four great grandchildren: Eddie, Dakota and Charles Arthur and Brianna York; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving son Carl W. Ackley; a brother Frank Sofia and two sisters Lucy Abel and Joanne Gokey.
