Obituary

Stacia H. (Wysocki) Carta, 94, beloved wife of the late Michael P. Carta passed away peacefully on Saturday November 17, 2018 at Apple Rehab Coccomo.

Born on March 27, 1924 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Wysocki. Stacia was a longtime resident of Meriden and graduate of Meriden High School, Class of 1942. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the Choir. Stacia proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from years 1949-1951. After the service, Stacia worked as an assistant for The Miller Company from where she retired after many years of service. She was very active throughout her life in various clubs, organizations and her Church. Most important to Stacia was being with her family. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Carta is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Schatra and her husband Robert of Coventry, Ann Carta and her husband Lawrence Berry of Annapolis, MD; a brother Joseph Wysocki of NH; three grandchildren: David Fugge, Michele Berry, Conor Berry; her great granddaughter Gina M. Fugge and best friend Shirley Stone, who Stacia received great comfort from over the past several years. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Apple Rehab Coccomo for the excellent and compassionate care given to Mrs. Carta.

Her funeral will be held Friday November 23rd at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 9:45 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the State Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday morning November 23rd from 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
