Sister Michelle Sokol (Loretta Helen) a Sister of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis for 66 years, peacefully entered eternal rest, Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the age of 83 at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor in New Britain Connecticut.

Sister Michelle was born on February 7, 1942, in Meriden, CT, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Renkar) Sokol. She studied at Madonna College/University in Livonia, Michigan and taught in schools in Michigan and Connecticut. She served as the Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Quaker Hill, CT from 1992 until her retirement in 2017.  In 2005 Sister Michelle received the Patrici-Anne Award for distinguished service to the Diocese of Norwich from Bishop Michael R. Cote.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Sokol of Meriden; her sister-in-law Eve Carol Sokol of Wallingford; several nieces; and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Joan Dionne; and her brothers Walter Sokol and Edward Sokol.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Monday, September 15, 2025 at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden.  Sister Michelle will be laid to rest following Mass in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Meriden.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Sister Michelle may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis, PO Box 305, Stevens Point, WI 54481, or St. Faustina Parish, 82 Akron St., Meriden, CT. 06450
