Obituary

Simon A. Woronick Jr., 79, died on Thursday March 10, 2016 at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Florence (Kawecki) Woronick, his loving wife of 52 years.

Born on February 16, 1937 he was the son of the late Simon A. and Stella (Bykowski) Woronick. A longtime resident of Meriden, Simon attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. He proudly served in the United States Army. Simon worked at the Miller Company from where he retired. He was a member of the PLAV, the Holy Name Society, and the Meriden Jaycees. Simon enjoyed stamp collecting, coin collecting and especially listening to Polish music.

Mr. Woronick is survived by his children: Simon A. Woronick III, Michael A. Woronick, David A. Woronick and Elizabeth A. Woronick all of Meriden; two brothers: Stanley B. Woronick and Sean Woronick both of Meriden; a sister Stephanie Laude of Meriden and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased Stephen J. Woronick.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday March 15th at 9:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
