Severino R. Lopez, 82, beloved husband of Evangelista Valentin passed away unexpectedly on Thursday January 3, 2019 at his home.

Born on March 20, 1936 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Seferino Lopez Roman and Julia Roman. A longtime resident of Meriden he was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and worked for Meriden Molding Manufacturing from where he retired. Severino enjoyed searching for unexpected treasures at area thrift stores and flea markets. He never came home empty handed, there was always a special trinket for one of his family members. Severino had a great sense of humor, he was known as the comedian of the family and always fun to be around. Severino gave everyone a funny nickname. He had a magic touch of cheering up anyone having a down day. A kind, happy, loving man, Severino will be greatly missed.

Mr. Severino is survived by his 11 children: Iris, Evelyn, Lucy, Adam, Benny, Maria, Lucy, Elsa, Jane, Isabelle and Carlos; one sister and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Migdalia.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday January 6 ^th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden and attend his graveside service on Monday January 7th at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
