Salvatore S. Circosta, 86, husband of the late Maria Angelica (Corrales) Circosta, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, October 8, 2016 at The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden.

Salvatore was born on January 5, 1930 in San Giovanni de Gerace, Calabria Italy. He was the son of the late Vincenzo and Theresa (Dominello) Circosta. At the age of 19, Salvatore moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Here he would meet his wife and start a family. Always looking for new opportunities, at age 35 he and his family moved to the U.S. and resided in Meriden, CT where he would live for nearly 30 years. While in CT he worked for the International Silver Company and later at American Cyanamid.

Upon retirement he moved to Pompano Beach, FL where he enjoyed the warm sun and beautiful beaches. Throughout his life Salvatore was an avid gardener, producing an impressive vegetable garden and an array of flowers, shrubs and trees. He put the fruits of his labor to good use through his excellent Italian cooking and home-made wine.

He is survived by son Albert Circosta of Wallingford, daughter Anna Edson and her husband Thomas Edson of Meriden, and grandchildren Thomas Edson Jr., Maria Edson, Angela Circosta and Albert B. Circosta. He is also survived by brothers Jose Circosta and Domingo Circosta of Argentina, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews in both Argentina and Italy. He was predeceased by his brother Juan Circosta and his sister Maria (Circosta) Gomez.
