Sally Marie Olesak, beloved wife of the late Michael S. Olesak died on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at Masonicare in Wallingford.
Born on March 22, 1927 she was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Novak) Oblon. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Sally graduated from Meriden High School, Class of 1945. Early in her life she worked at the International Silver Company. Sally was a devoted parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. She was a member of the Meriden Catholic Women's Council, Columbian Ladies and the Sunshine Club. Sally enjoyed doing Stewardship at the Curtis Home, spending time with the residents. Sally was always a ray of strength and faith to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her great date nut cupcakes and pistachio Jell-O molds which no one has ever topped. Sally was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Mrs. Olesak is survived by her devoted niece and best friend Sharon Clementel, a sister Genevieve Walczak and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who enjoyed doing Spelling Bees with her and taught her how to dance "their dances" with them. She was predeceased by two sisters: Julia Ozycz and her husband Samuel, Henrietta Clementel and her husband Roland; a brother Theodore Oblon and his wife Irene and brother-in-law Anthony Walczak.
The family would like to thank her special caregiver Barbara Adom who along with Sharon shared many laughs, car rides and dinners together.
Her funeral will held on Saturday October 8th at 10:00 a,m. from the Stempien Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, CT.
