Roy Melendez Sr., 52, of Meriden, loving husband of Cynthia Betancourt, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Roy was born in the Bronx, N.Y., May 24, 1972, a son of Luz V. Concepcion of Meriden and the late Jose Melendez.  Roy was a self-employed home improvement contractor for many years.

In addition to his wife, Cynthia, he is survived by his children Kiany Melendez, Roy Melendez Jr., Hevin Melendez, Debra Betancourt, Tyina Melendez and Jacob Arce; his grandchildren Kamilla, Valentina, SkyBella, Anastasia, Zailey, Isabella and ItaliaBella; 8 brothers; and sisters; many nieces; and nephews.

Roy's family will receive relatives and friends at Church of God Conquerors of Faith, 975 Broad St., Meriden, Monday, December 23, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., where a prayer service will be held.  Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden.
