Roseann L.
Gardon
Dec 23, 1941 — Sep 22, 2018
Roseann Loretta (Young) Gardon, 76, wife of the late Charles W. Gardon, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the CT Baptist Home.
Born on December 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Ames) Young. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Roseann attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Before starting her family, she was an executive secretary for the Travelers Insurance Company. Roseann always enjoyed her summer vacations in a cottage by the lake in Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine. She also loved working on crossword puzzles, telling funny jokes, and spoiling her beloved grandchildren and dogs. Roseann loved the Lord and our precious Blessed Mother. Rose was as a ray of sunshine – her sweet smile, kindness and hearty laugh will be dearly missed by her friends and family. The family would like to thank the CT Baptist Home for their love, kindness and compassion shown by all staff over the past two years.
Roseann is survived by her beloved five children, five grandchildren, three siblings and spouses as well as several nieces and nephews. Her children include three sons - Charles Gardon of Wethersfield, Paul Gardon of Meriden, Vincent Gardon of Cornwall, VT; daughters - Mary Kordys (husband Michael) of Windermere, FL, and Anne Gardon (husband Johan Greyvensteyn) of Hong Kong, China. She is also survived by her sister Maureen Schappert; two brothers, John Young (wife Millie), Joseph Young (wife Dorothy) and sister-in-law Ann Zimmerman (husband Elmer). Her cherished grandchildren include Anthony Kordys, Monique and Andrew Gardon and Zander and Klara Greyvensteyn. She is also predeceased by her baby sister, Bernadette Young, her sister Katherine Pallis and husband Tom, brother Francis Young and wife Janet; and brother-in-law Gerald Schappert.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, September 27th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. To send an on-line expression of sympathy, please visit ww.stempienfuneralhome.com.
