Obituary

Rose Marie (Coppola) Magnani entered into eternal peace on Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2015. It is said for those who pass on Christmas Eve "the gates of Heaven open at midnight and those who die would go straight in, on this most holy of nights."

Our Mother was an Angel, our blessing and the guiding light of our family. She was a second Mother to all our friends and also to her brothers. I remember friends all wanting to come over and spend time with her. They enjoyed her knowledge and her non judgment ways. She was known for her Italian Anise cookies, Pizzagaina and her traditional Italian ways which she carried on throughout her life time. Sunday was family dinner "no matter what!" it was her day. Mom was a Mom to all who knew her. She loved Cape Cod and Saratoga Springs, NY. She always took her children to these places every summer. Her children were her life.

Rose was the daughter of Antonio Coppola and Nicolina Coppola of Southington, CT. Rose graduated when she was 16 yrs. old from Southington High School. Rose was one of the first people to work on computers when they were as large as rooms. Rose worked on these in numerous places throughout Connecticut until the day she married her true love Anthony. She worked with him at Torino Baking Company until her retirement.

Mom leaves her children: Regina Magnani of Ellington, Camille (Wesley) Hatch of Wallingford and Westbrook, Christina Magnani of Cheshire, and Louis Magnani of Meriden. Rose also leaves her brother William (Joan) Coppola of Bristol and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her little puppies, Gracia (her guardian Angel) and Carlito (her buddy). She was predeceased by her brothers Vincent & Lucy (sister-in-law), Louis, Anthony, Frances, Ernest, and many other beloved family members.

There will be no calling hours and burial will be private. Say a pray for Mom and carry on her loving ways to all, this is what she would have wanted. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. To send an online expression of sympathy please visit www.smithruzzofuneralhome.com.
