Rose Marie (Smoloski) Lapinski, 91, of Portland, loving wife of the late Thomas Lapinski for 58 years, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Middlesex Hospital.

Rose Marie was born in New Britain, May 23, 1934, a daughter of the late John Smoloski and Bertha (Drenziek) Smoloski and had been a Portland resident for many years. She was a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary.

She is survived by her son Alexander Lapinski and his wife Lynne of Portland; her beloved grandchildren whom she cherished, Mia Lapinski and Quinn Lapinski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary, 45 Freestone Ave, Portland.  Interment is private.  The Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., is entrusted with her arrangements.
