Roland G. Despres, 85, of Meriden, loving husband for 60 years of Nan (Morin) Despres, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 21, 2025 at MidState Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Roland was born in Meriden, April 6, 1940, son of the late George Despres and Germaine (Laurendeau) Despres and was a lifelong Meriden resident.  He served in the Connecticut National Guard during the Vietnam War and was employed as a Tool & Die Maker until his retirement.  He and his wife were also the owners of a stained-glass business which they enjoyed selling their products at local fairs.

Roland was a true outdoorsman who could build and repair almost anything.  Most importantly his wife, children and grandchildren will remember him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife Nan, he is survived by his children Steven Despres and his wife Kate, and Jamie Despres and his wife Maria; his cherished grandchildren Matthew, Ethan, and Kayla Despres; and several cousins.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden.  There will be no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, his family requests you perform a random act of kindness in his memory.
