Robert F. Sieracki, Sr., 84, died on April 5, 2014 after a brief illness. Mr. Sieracki was born in Meriden on November 28, 1929, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Mudry) Sieracki. Robert lived in Meriden all of his life. He attended St. Stanislaus School and St. John Kanty Prep School in Erie, PA. In 1948 with a number of his friends, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served honorably and received an honorable medical discharge. Mr. Sieracki attended the University of New Mexico and in 1982 earned a Real Estate Certificate from the University of Connecticut. Robert was president and long time owner along with his father Frank and brother Edward, of the Silvertown Restaurant located on South Broad St. on the Meriden/Wallingford town line. After selling the restaurant in 1976, he became a Certified Real Estate Appraiser and worked in that profession until his retirement in 2005. Robert served as Chairman of the Democratic Party during the turbulent Abe Grossman years for which he received an award from the party and then Governor, Bill O'Neil in 1984. He also served as Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in 1962 and was a member of the Masonic Order Meridian #77 Lodge. Robert was predeceased by his wife Grace LaRosa DeLuca Sieracki and his brother Edward Sieracki. He is survived by his former wife Mary Sieracki; his two children: Linda Grant and her partner Leonard Sobieski of Meriden and Robert Jr. and his wife Carol of Plymouth; five grandchildren: Dan Sieracki and his wife Michelle of Bristol, Anne Sieracki, Sara Rusate and her husband Steven of Meriden, Molly Grant Moorer and her husband Steve of New Britain, Jacqueline Grant Phillips and her husband Shane of Cheshire; 6 great grandchildren: Isabella and Benjamin Rusate, Dillyn and Braylen Moorer, Jack Sieracki and Charles Phillips; three stepsons and their wives: Steve and Jeannine DeLuca of Meriden, George and Linda DeLuca of Wolcott, Vincent DeLuca of Prospect and their loving children "his Grace's grandchildren": Brittney, Paige, Alyse and great grandchild Areana Grace Keyworth and his loving and loyal companion his dog Maxie.
