Robert B Macchietto "Uncle Bob" age 93, of Clinton, formerly a life long resident of Meriden, was called home by the Lord on July 25, 2015. He was born on June 23, 1923 in Meriden, CT to the late Mary and Bartolo Macchietto. Robert was married to his beloved wife Catherine for 63 years. He was a graduate of Meriden High School, and shortly after graduation proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. Robert was the co-owner of Meriden Panel Form for most of his life, and later in life worked with Carabetta Enterprises. He worked selflessly his whole life to provide for his family. When not working Robert enjoyed his house on the water, planting and tending to his tomatoes and enjoying meals with family and friends. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter taking many memorable moose hunting trips to Nova Scotia. Robert will be remembered as a smart, hard working devoted family man, with a great sense of humor, a smile that would light up a room and a heart of gold. He will be missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his loving daughters, Berta Macchietto of Clinton and Donna Cavarretta, her husband Isadore and 2 grandsons, Nico and Christopher Cavarretta of Cleveland, Texas. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as his treasured family cat Seor Gato. Robert is also survived by his brother-in-laws: Salvatore and wife Carol, Joseph and Evelyn Carabetta, and Donald Logodicio. He is predeceased in death by his brothers Angelo and Albert Macchietto, and sisters Cecilia Siegel, and Henrietta McNulty. Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Meriden.
