Robert L. Jenkins, Sr., 88, beloved husband of the late Carol Jenkins, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the HCC New Britain.

Mr. Jenkins was born on September 22, 1934 in Summersville, West Virginia where he attended local schools. He was a graduate of Fairmont State University and a successful player on their football team. Bob relocated to Meriden and was employed as an inspector for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft from where he retired in 1997. He was a member of the North Italian Club and Hunters Golf Course. Bob loved playing golf and was awarded City Champion Golfer in Meriden in 1978. He was an avid fan of the UCONN Women's Basketball team and the Pittsburg Steelers. Bob also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox nightly. Most important to Bob was spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bob will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children: Robert L. Jenkins, Jr. and his wife Bernadette of Meriden, Cheryl Reilly and her husband Gary of Berlin; three grandchildren: Robert L. Jenkins, III, Devon (Michael) Getchel, Eric Reilly and two great grandchildren: Caroline Getchel and Grace Getchel.
