Robert P. Carabetta Sr., 70, died on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at the West Haven Veterans' Hospital. He was the husband of Ann E. (Day) Carabetta, his loving wife of 47 years. Born on May 6, 1944, he was the son of the late Sal R. and Constance (Farieri) Carabetta. Bob was a lifelong resident of Meriden. He attended local schools and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Bob proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the City of Meriden Water Division from where he retired after 25 years of service. Bob was a member of the PLAV, the Meriden Elks and the American Legion. He was an avid NY Yankee fan and enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles and UCONN basketball. Bob is survived by his daughter Lori Carabetta and his son-in-law John of Southington, a brother Joseph Carabetta and his wife Denise of Meriden; a step granddaughter Susanne Nelson and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son Robert P. Carabetta Jr. and his brother Dennis Carabetta.
