Richard Allen Zajac, current partner of Amanda Gross and previous partner Maureen Shaw, passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 after a long battle with cancer at his home in Bloomsburg, PA.

Born on December 21, 1956 in Meriden, he was the son of John J. Zajac Jr. and the late Alice (Montana) Zajac. Ricky grew up in Meriden. He was a parishioner of Stanislaus Church, a graduate of Maloney High School, Class of 1975 and attended Quinnipiac University. Ricky played the trumpet for the Washington Park Drum Corp and successfully competed in many competitions. He worked for New Departure and the USPO. Ricky lived in Bloomsburg, PA for the past 25 years. While in Bloomsburg Ricky became active in Native American Culture where he held an honored position within the Haudenosaunee Native American Tribe.

Ricky is survived by his two children Jeremy J. Zajac and Sarah G. Zajac both of Ocala, FL along with his two grandchildren Chris (Jeremey's son) and Nicky (Sarah's son); three brothers: Michael Zajac and his wife Joanne of Westbrook; Thomas Zajac and his wife Gisele of NC; Jeffrey Zajac and his wife Kimberly of Durham; his sister Karen Olson and her husband Paul of Meriden and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John "Jay" Zajac.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday evening June 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and attend his funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. Everyone is invited to participate in his committal service on Friday June 22nd at 11:00 a.m. directly at the Chapel in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
