Richard E. Mendyka, Jr., 28, beloved fiancé of Jenny Wojtusik passed away peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday March 24, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born on October 31, 1987 he is the son of Michele (Conroy) Robitaille and Richard E. Mendyka, Sr. and his wife Catherine. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Richie attended local schools and worked as a manager at Lowes in Southington. He was an avid football fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Richie liked to skateboard, play poker and go to the casino. He especially enjoyed travelling with his fiancé. Richie was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by his sister Amber Mendyka; two brothers: Anthony Desiata, Joey Desiata all of Meriden; a stepbrother Tyler Cancelli of Hamden; his maternal grandmother Judy Iaccarino of Meriden and his niece McKenzie Rezendes.
