Phyllis K. Plover, beloved wife of the late Francis Plover, passed in peace on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the age of 89, while visiting her children in California. Born on June 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Wazocha) Koniski. She was a lifelong resident of Meriden where she attended St. Stanislaus School, St. Stanislaus Church and was a Child of Mary. After raising three children, Phyllis went on to work for the International Silver Company and later at the Youth Division for the Town of Wallingford. She was an active member of the Sunshine Club, Ladies Guild and participated in many events held by the Antique Veterans of Meriden Post #1.
Phyllis was the heart and soul of the family who enjoyed spending countless hours with her children and grandchildren. They were everything to her. For the past several years, Phyllis frequently visited California and often would travel all over the world with them. She was a kind, loving, and nurturing individual who inspired and brought out the best in everyone. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed dearly.
Mrs. Plover is survived by her sons: Gregory Plover and his wife Diana of Wallingford CT; Gary Plover and his wife Mami of Yorba Linda, CA; her daughter Karen Brust and her husband Michael of Olivenhain, CA; seven cherished grandchildren: Rebecca, Cory, Lena and Anna Plover; James, Crystal and Alyssa Brust and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters: Wanda Koniski, Sister Stephanie Koniski and Helen Tatara and her brothers-in-law: Charles Tatara, Adolph Jr. Czaja and Victor Czaja.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, May 5, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, 81 Akron St., Meriden, with the Rev. Nadolny officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to call at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden on Friday, May 4 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning May 5 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Anyone needing assistance with parking please call the funeral home.
