Nora A. Miranda, 81, beloved wife of Manuel Ramon Miranda passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at The HOCC in New Britain after a brief illness.
Born on July 31, 1940 in Manabi Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Isauro and Aida (O'Brien) Moran. Nora graduated from Hartford Technical College with an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, and Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She worked for International Silver, Meriden City Hall Tax Department, Yale University for several years, and New Britain Counseling Center until her retirement.
In addition to her husband Manuel, Nora is survived by her 3 children and spouses Marcello and Ashley Miranda of Meriden, Maricruz and Joseph Ableski of Bristol, Mario and Heather Miranda of Simsbury; 5 grandchildren that she loved dearly Kaitlynn and Aubrey Cyr, Alyssa, Kyle, and Mason Miranda. A sister Blanca Brito of Quito Ecuador, Marianna Andia of Miami Florida, and her brother Isauro Moran of Ecuador. Brother in laws George and Abel Miranda of North Carolina. Aunt Maria Augustina de Barrerio, many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, and grand nephews, as well as many dedicated friends that were like her family. She was predeceased by her daughter Maribel Miranda. Sisters and their spouses Betty and Dr Carlos and Cedenio, Norma and Jacinto Balseca. Brother in laws Eduardo Brito and Jose Miranda. Sister-in-laws Angelita and Gladys Miranda.
The family would like to thank the nursing and Medical Staff of N3 and the ICU at the HOCC in New Britain for all your dedication and timeless effort during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday evening February 3rd from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. All are also invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday February 4th at 11:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady Queen of Angels, St. Joseph Campus, 22 Goodwill Ave. Meriden.
