Nerida Rodriguez, 64, of Meriden, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, Friday, January 26, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.  She was the wife of Carlos Cruz.

Nerida was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, September 18, 1959, a daughter of Juan A. Rodriguez of Puerto Rico and Margarita Martinez of Florida.  Nerida had been employed by the Thompson Candy Co. for 20 years prior to her illness.

She is survived by her two daughters Joesy Cruz and Karla Cruz and her husband Jose Rodriguez; 11 cherished grandchildren; 9 loving sisters; many cousins; and friends.  She was predeceased by her son Carlos M. Cruz.

Nerida's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.  A prayer service will begin in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain.
