Meriden

Obituary

Nancy J. (Kamenoff) Fahey, 88, wife of the late Norbert T. Fahey Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday February 20, 2022.

Born on May 11, 1933 in New York City, she was the daughter of Warren G. and Margaret (Smith) Kamenoff. She grew up in Meriden, attended local schools and graduated from Meriden High School, Class of 1951.

True to her stoic Gaelic Scottish demeanor, Mom often said her obituary should simply read "She's Gone Now and won't be going to breakfast at Al's anymore!"

However, it should be told of what an incredible mother she was, driving her kids all over Meriden and spending countless hours attending thousands of her children's sports events over three plus decades.  Her kids were always her priority and she truly made them her life's work.

Throughout the years, she cherished her time in Sherman, CT with her family and lifelong friends, while building great family memories along the way.  She remained close with many friends she met along the way…childhood friends, high school friends, the "original" Amity St. cronies and neighborhood kids, co-workers, exercise pals and breakfast buddies, always looking forward to the next phone call, conversation or get-together!

Nancy is survived by her children: Tom (Cathy), Rick (Dawn), Ken (Dawna), Diane, and Dave (Lisa). She was Granny to her grandchildren: Alyssa (Dave), Jenna (Chris), Jon, Jaclyn, Sarah (Ryan), Sam, Kevin, Seanna, and Cameron, and was GG to her six great grandchildren: Frankie, Adam, Charlie, Grace, Connor, and Logan.

She is also survived by her sister, partner in crime and best friend for over 80 yrs., Marge Suzio (Frank), her brother Bill (Chris), with whom she shared her love for tennis, along with nieces and nephew Carie, Peg, Pam, and Jim, all of whom always had a special place in her heart.

Her family would like to thank the entire "crew" at Al's Cup & Saucer who entertained Mom nearly every morning for many years. Also, a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Southington Care Center who were not only amazing caregivers during her SCC "visits" over the last few years, but became her friends…Mom loved all of you and I know she told you so on a daily basis!!!

Services will be private and there will be no calling hours.
