Michael J. Heroux, of Meriden, a son of the late Arthur W. and Wanda (Zuilkowski) Heroux passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 29, 2019.
Mike was born on March 20, 1954 and raised in Meriden where he was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and graduate of St. Stanislaus School. He was a graduate of Maloney High School, Class of 1972. Upon graduation from Maloney Mike continued his education at The Rhode Island School of Design where he graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design.
Mike was a very talented graphic designer who worked for several companies doing the package design for many well-known products. He was very honored to have previously won the prestigious Clio Award which is given for innovative and creative excellence in advertising, design, and communication. This was an honor that he was very modest about.
Mike enjoyed life. He loved to laugh and would talk with anyone. He had so many friends. Mike was a man of habit and very social. He enjoyed breakfast at his favorite spots, A&A Restaurant was one of them where he and George would meet and enjoy friendly banter with each other. He worked out several times a week and had many friends at the gym that he referred to as his work out buddies. He will be missed by the birds and squirrels in the back yard that he made sure had plenty of food to enjoy. Mike liked to garden and was proud of the primroses that he was able to continue to keep flourishing after his father passed.
Mike will be missed by his brothers and their families Mark and Nilva Heroux, Arthur and Kate Heroux, his niece Kelley and husband Eli, niece Natalia, grandnephews Sevren and Eugene, his God Daughter Deborah Zuilkowski-Nathan, several cousins and countless friends.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday February 5 th at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday evening February 4 th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at the Stempien Funeral Home.
