Mrs. Mary (Kusza) Szymaszek, 100, passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2015 surrounded by her family. For 35 years she was the beloved wife of Walter Szymaszek who died in 1970. Mary was born in Meriden on December 1st, 1914 daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Kusza. She was predeceased by her son David Szymaszek, her brother Anthony Kusza and sister Bertha Markiewicz. Mary lived all of her life in Meriden. She found great joy when surrounded by her family and enjoyed cooking, baking and reading. A devout Catholic, Mary was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church for all of her life. She was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her son Peter Szymaszek and wife Susan of Weatogue, Ct., daughter-in-law Cynthia Szymaszek of Meriden, Ct., her grandchildren Matthew and Lindsey Szymaszek of Wilmington, DE., Kate and Nick Giampetruzzi of Waterbury, Ct., Annaliese Szymaszek of West Palm Beach, Fl., David and Cindy Szymaszek of Meriden, Leslie and Phil Sandifer of Guilford, Ct., and Mark and Karine Szymaszek of Meriden, Ct. She also leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
