Mary Agnes (Mik) Maciora, 96, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday November 27, 2017 at her home

Born on November 17, 1921 in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Ignacy M. and Helena E. (Bykowska) Mik.  Mary was the last surviving child of their 10 children.  Her siblings were:  John J. Mik Sr., Theresa E. Dembiczak, Magdalen M. Massaro, Katherine M. Astramowicz, Rose M. Slisz, Czeslawa Mik, Ignacy Mik Jr., Felix J. Mik and Joseph A. Mik.

She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School, Class of 1935, Meriden High School Class of 1939 and Laurel Business College, Meriden, Class of 1940. Mary was employed as a secretary in the MA Department of Social Services, Pittsfield, MA from 1978-1989. On April 22, 1946, Easter Monday, she married Joseph George Maciora at St. Stanislaus Church, Meriden.  He died on July 18, 1998.

Mrs. Maciora is survived by her son Joseph G.V. Maciora of Pittsfield, MA; her granddaughter Susan Marie Jacobs and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the Meriden area and her sister-in-law Helen J.  Mik of CA. Besides her siblings, she was predeceased by her daughter Mary G. Maciora Jacobs on August 26, 2017.

Her funeral was held on Thursday November 30, 2017 in Pittsfield, MA. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pittsfield, MA.
