Obituary

Mary Kowalski, 97, entered eternal life on November 24, 2017 at the MidState Medical Center.

She was a lifelong resident of Meriden, and with her husband Edward, owned and operated the Hobart Street Market for many years. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Edward, her infant son John, sisters Helen Kubek, Elizabeth Bellemore and Ann Boris, brother John, and son-in-law Richard Peck.   She is survived by her son David (Eileen), daughters Elizabeth (Richard) Arnold, Barbara (Allan) Peck, and Mary Peck, granddaughters Mary (Stephen) DeVault, Kim (Patrick) Kowalski, Patty (Matthew) Higgins and Sara (Nathaniel) McLaughlin, great grandchildren Grace, Aidan and Bridget Higgins and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cliff Drechsler-Martell for his extraordinary care over the years and Bill Allyn and his staff at the Village at Kensington Place, her home for the past three years, for providing a warm, kind, highly supportive, compassionate and stimulating environment.

A Mass celebrating her life will take place on December 2nd at 10:00 at the St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron Street, Meriden. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
