Mary H. Gawlak, 99, beloved wife of the late Adolph Gawlak died on Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Meriden Center.

Born on August 7, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Anna (Kusek) Bieluczyk. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Mary attended local schools.  She worked for A&P Supermarkets and then Shoprite from where she retired. Mary was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, a member of its Ladies Guild, St. Theresa Society and a member of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women. She was a faithful volunteer at St. Stanislaus Rectory and pierogi maker for the June Fest. A loving mother and grandmother, Mary will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Gawlak is survived by her three daughters: Patricia Hewitt, Barbara Angiletta and her husband Edward, Elizabeth Tomczuk all of Meriden; a brother Robert Bieluczyk of Meriden; a sister: Wanda Bieluczyk of Meriden; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Walter S. Tomczuk; three brothers: Walter, Edward and Joseph Bieluczyk and two sisters Julia Stryjewski and Adeline Adams.

The family would like to thank the Franciscan Nuns and the staff at the Meriden Center for the excellent care given to Mary.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday January 28, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
