Obituary

Mary J. Cyrul, 88, beloved wife of the late Walter J. Cyrul died on Thursday March 30, 2017 at MidState Medical Center.

Born on August 15, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Banack) Champagne. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Mary attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. She worked at the Eyelet Division of International Silver from where she retired from after many years of service. Mary was a member of the St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild, Sunshine Club and Holy Rosary Society. She also volunteered to cook for the priests in the rectory.

Mrs. Cyrul is survived by her sons: Gerald A. Cyrul of Meriden, James Cyrul and his wife Joan of East Haddam; a brother: Edward Champagne of Middletown; her sister Barbara Logodicio of Meriden; granddaughter Alexandra Gowing of Wallingford; great granddaughter Audra Petrosky of Wallingford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Frances Lucia and brother Albert Champagne.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday April 6th at 10:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday morning April 6th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
