Mary Tonina Agli, 94, of Killingworth and formerly of Meriden, beloved wife of the late William J. Agli died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2012, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. Mary was born in North Haven on April 17, 1918, the daughter of the late Luigi and Elvira (Berni) Giannini. She attended local schools. After her marriage, she became a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden. Mary was employed in retail sales for many years at a number of local stores, including Boynton's, Hamrah's, and Roosevelt Mills. She was a member of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, word search puzzles, and attending church events at Saint Lawrence Church in Killingworth. Mary is survived by her son, William A. Agli and his wife, Susan M. Nesci, of Killingworth; son-in-law, Samuel J. Liseo, of Meriden; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; beloved niece, Theresa Grant, of Meriden; and nephew, Patrick Mesite and his wife, Sheila, of Cheshire; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia DeAngelis Liseo; four sisters; and a brother. Mary's family would like to thank the staff at MidState Medical Center for the excellent care given to her.
