Marietta Cassarino, 93, of Meriden, a loving mother; sister ; aunt; and friend, peacefully entered into eternal life, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Miller Memorial Community in Meriden.

Marietta ("Mary") was born in Hartford, June 19, 1928, a daughter of the late Santo Cassarino and Lucia (Rossitto) Cassarino from Canicattini Bagni in the Syracuse province of Sicily and had been a Meriden resident for many years. She worked at International Silver before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed being around family and friends and playing cards.  Marietta also loved listening to Engelbert Humperdink and eating a good steak.

Marietta is survived by her two devoted sons Vincent M. Cassarino , Michael J. Cassarino and his fiancé Raida Travis ; step son Leonardo Gutierrez and his wife Migdalia Gutierrez ; several nieces; nephews ; and staff at Miller Memorial who affectionally referred to her as Grandma . She was predeceased by her longtime companion Pa s qual Rosado of Meriden, CT ; sisters Josephine Cassarino Vasile of Pensacola FL and Pauline Cassarino Angilette of Meriden, CT ; brothers Sebastian Cassarino of Hartford, CT and James Cassarino of Wethersfield, CT .

Marietta's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Thursday, February 24, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.  A funeral service celebrating Marietta's life will begin at 7 p.m.  A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, February 26, at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. In Lieu of g ifts and flowers in memory of Marietta the family asks to please make a memorial donation to the Miller Memorial Community in Meriden, CT, if desired.
