Maria Vegliante, 55, of Wallingford formally of Hamden, died unexpectedly at home on February 11, 2019.
Maria is the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Butler. Maria was employed as a bookkeeper and loved by those she worked with at Amarante's Sea Cliff Inn in New Haven, CT. She loved her family and her animals more than life itself. Maria was a dedicated and loving mother, sister, aunt, godmother, friend, and girlfriend. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Vegliante, who was and remains to be her pride and joy. Gil Kelly, her loving and caring boyfriend of many years. Her dog Buddy, and cat, Duchess. Along with her Grand-dog Milah, and Grand-cats, Isabel, Holly, Gomez, and Jem Louise. Her sisters, Laura (Fred) Pellegrini, Nancy (John) Marotta, Marcia (Robert) Futterleib, and Susan (Ron) Brasile. Brothers, Thomas (TR) (Catherine) Butler, and Carl (Barbara) Butler. Along with 11 nieces and nephews, and 6 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Vegliante, and seven dogs and cats.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday February 19th at 9:00 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld St., New Haven, CT for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Cemetery, 90 Pine Rock Ave., New Haven. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday evening, February 18th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
