Maria Matos, 80, beloved wife of the late Ramon Matos died on Saturday January 7, 2012 at the Meriden Center. Born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico on March 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Aristides and Esther (Sosa) Colon. Most important to Maria was her family, she cherished the time she spent with them. Mrs. Matos is survived by her two sons: Juan R. Matos and his wife Patricia of Wallingford and Radames Matos of Meriden; 2 grandchildren: Simone Bernier, Ian Matos; 3 great grandchildren: Linda Bernier, Samantha Yates, Summer Cadiux and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Fred Padilla; two daughters: Linda E. Matos-Bernier, Susan M. Matos and her 13 brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Tanzino for the excellent care given to Mrs. Matos.
