Obituary

Manuel R. Miranda, 86, beloved husband of the late Nora A. Miranda, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Manuel was born in Chone, Ecuador, August 27, 1937, a son of the late Nicolas Miranda and Margarita (Barreiro) Miranda and had been a Meriden resident for many years.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and had been employed as an electrician at Meriden Rolling Mills until his retirement.

Manuel is survived by three children and spouses Marcello and Ashley Miranda of Meriden, Maricruz and Joseph Ableski of Bristol, Mario and Heather Miranda of Simsbury; 5 grandchildren that he loved dearly Kaitlynn and Aubrey Cyr, Alyssa, Kyle, and Mason Miranda; his brothers George and Abel Miranda of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, and grand nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Maribel Miranda.

The Family would like to thank The Hartford Healthcare Hospice Team.  Special thank you to our Angels Michelle, Sharon, Donna and Bonnie.  To Melissa who guided us through a very difficult time and to Deb for being there during a difficult time.

His family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Friday, December 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.  A prayer service will follow at 12 p.m.  Inurnment with military honors will be in the State of CT. Veterans' Cemetery in Middletown.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Manuel may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306.
