Obituary

Louis Anthony Magnani (Muzzy) of Cheshire - Meriden, Ct departed this earth on Thursday April 21, 2016.

Born on May 29, 1961 beloved only son of the late Rose (Coppola) & Anthony Magnani (Big Muzzy), brother to Regina, Christina Magnani, and Camille Hatch and her husband Wes. Dad to his beloved companions Gracia & Carlito his fur-babies.

He was a steadfast, loyal and generous friend to those closest to him, and a memorable presence to those who did not know him as well. It's a much sadder place because of the loss of his spirit and love of life. Louis would not want us grieving over him. He was the type of man who would want us to rejoice in his life and his history. Louie was a very kind and giving soul, if he saw someone in need he would always step forward and be the first one to help out no questions asked. He loved his friends and treasured them like they were his family, which they were in his eyes-a family he had chosen. Even though, his image was projected as a tough man, those close to him know him as a gentle and kind soul who left this earth way to soon and made it a much sadder place. Everyone will always remember Lou's fireworks celebrations that lasted not only on the fourth of July but throughout the months of summer; his trips to New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, The Big E, fishing trips, flea markets.

We miss our brother Louis, Lou, Muzzy, Louie, Big Guy, Boss what every you called him he was our baby brother and he took a piece of us when he left us here. Louis was a champion wrestler and was asked to go to the Junior Olympics, a great football player who was offered numerous scholarships to attend collages throughout the U.S. and was also selected on the first string Crusaders football team. But his heart was to stay on and help his best friend and father, Anthony, run the family business, Torino Baking Co. He put his family first as he always did throughout his life, famigila al primo posto. Lou was a legend in his own right. Lou loved all sports, wrestling, muscle cars, history, museums, fairs, dining out, long drives to nowhere, debating anything and everything, telling jokes, animals, his stories we all loved listening too of his great exploits in his younger years. Louie always surprised people with his vast knowledge of history, politics, finance, and just about anything! God called him home after he had just finished his cancer treatments and was on his way to recovery. He died completely unexpectedly at his home in Cheshire with his family by his side.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital who cared for him to the end. Thank you to all his many friends who made his days brighter with special memories: brother Alan Addy, John Arabaza, Kevin Verdolini, Billy Gradzewicz, Kyle & Michael Arabaza and  many others too numerous mention.  Lou LOVED YOU ALL!!  A special thank you to his close friend and dearly trusted sister, Christina, who was consistently by his side in his time of need. She never left him and will miss him dearly.
