Obituary

Lois J. (Dittman) Civale, 97, of Meriden, loving wife of the late Frank Civale Sr., passed away peacefully, Monday, June 2, 2025.

Lois was born in Meriden, January 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Robert Dittman and Kathryn (Cavanaugh) Dittman and had been a lifelong Meriden resident. She was employed as the office manager for Standard Plumbing in Meriden until her retirement.

We dearly miss our sweet, intelligent, funny Mom, Gramma, and Great Gramma. She was our most loving supporter, our Sunday hostess, and our Rummy competition. Lois had many hobbies including playing golf, knitting, cross stitch, sewing, reading, and in the last several years, puzzles! One cannot mention Lois without thinking about her baking; chocolate chip cookies, pineapple squares, coffee cake, and her legendary LEMON COOKIES.

She is survived by her son Kim and his wife Helen (LaBissoniere) Civale; her grandchildren Dylan and his wife Danielle (Crosby) Civale of Plymouth,Ma., Candra Civale and her fiancé Matthew Pepe of Berlin, Nic Civale and his wife Kristina Bocco Of Norwalk Ct, and Aaron and his wife Francesca (Barilla) Civale of Mashpee Ma., her great grandchildren Sophia and Giuliana Civale of Plymouth Ma., Alexia Wilbur of Berlin Ct., Luca Civale of Norwalk Ct., and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son Frank Jr. and his wife Jean (LaBissoniere) Civale.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17th at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony St. in Wallingford. Entombment will be private in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum in Meriden.
