Lois H. Belden, 89, beloved wife of the late Allen M. Belden died on Sunday January 8, 2012 at MidState Medical Center. Born in Revere, MA on June 19, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Helen (Harding) Osborne. Lois was a longtime resident of Meriden. She was a dedicated member of Center Congregational Church where she was the Director of the Hand Bell Choir for over 25 years. Lois was a member of the original Civil Air Patrol and a volunteer at the Meriden Girls Club. She enjoyed singing and caring for her grandchildren. Lois was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Belden is survived by her son Richard A. Belden of Indianapolis; her three daughters: Lynne A. Bowen of Wallingford, Marcia L. Shields of Meriden, Karen J. Grabiec and her husband Peter of Meriden; nine grandchildren: Scott R. Shields and his wife Tressa of Washington State, Dean W. Shields of Meriden, Katie J. Shields of Meriden, Ian A. Shields and his wife Jaclyn of Meriden, Sally L. Clark and her husband Alan of Durham, Gregory R. Bowen and his wife Sarah of Wallingford, Stacy L. Bowen of Wallingford, Susan Victoria and her husband Kenneth of Plymouth, Lisa A. Lavoie and her husband Matthew of Naugatuck; eleven great grandchildren: Matthew R. Shields, Alyssa L. Shields, Nathan D. Shields, Julia G. Bowen, Christopher A. Clark, Zoe L. Shields, Tyler D. Shields, Kassie J. Jablonski, Matthew N. Lavoie, Kadence O. Camp and Ethan M. Camp. She was predeceased by two brothers: Edward (Larry) Osborne, Norman H. Osborne; a sister Edith A. Ethier and her son-in-law Robert F. Bowen.
