Kevin K. Detol, 34, died on Thursday June 2, 2016 at MidState Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 21, 1982 in Honolulu, HI, he was the cherished son of Patricia (Mikowski) Detol and the late Gilbert Kimo Detol. Kevin attended local schools in Hawaii. He was a member of his high school wrestling team and played soccer. Kevin graduated Aiea High School, Class of 2000. While living in Hawaii he enjoyed the beaches and all things outdoors: surfing, camping and canoe racing. Kevin relocated with his family to Meriden in 2001. He liked chess, playing basketball and was a staunch a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kevin served in the US Navy stationed on the USS Rushmore in San Diego. Upon his return to Connecticut he joined the Carpenters Union and worked as an apprentice carpenter. Most important to Kevin was spending time with his family, especially with his son Kaden whom he considered his greatest blessing.

Besides his mother, Kevin is survived by his son Kaden K. Detol of Wallingford; his close sister Ginger N. M. Detol and her fiancé Derick Zastrow of Meriden; his beloved partner Christine Boucher of Wallingford; his special niece Stephanie Galloza Detol and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Margaret Detol and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

There will be a Mass of Christian burial on Friday July 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
