Karen A.
Pattavina
Mar 7, 1940 — Dec 30, 2024
Meriden
Karen (Sangiovanni) Pattavina, 84, loving wife of the late Guy Pattavina peacefully entered into eternal life, Monday, December 30, 2024 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam, Ct.
Beloved by all, Karen was born in Meriden, March 7, 1940, a daughter of the late Alfred Sangiovanni and Rose (Naples) Sangiovanni and had been a lifelong Meriden resident. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at Maloney High School for many years.
She is survived by her children: Lori Pandolfo, Sebastian Michael Pattavina, and Mary Dumas; her grandchildren: Ryan Daponte, Rachel Daponte Lopez, Andrew Pandolfo, and Dominick Daponte: her great grandchildren: Luca Lopez, Lorenzo Lopez, and Arlo Pandolfo; her sons in law: Louis Pandolfo and Jim Dumas; the spouses of her grandchildren: Liz Pandolfo, William Lopez, and Christy Daponte. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Kerrie Pattavina; and her siblings: Edward, Louis, Frank, Cecilia, Marion, and Rosemary.
Karen was an uncommonly kind person who touched the lives of many, including but not nearly limited to: her best friend of over 70 years, Cathy Murphy; all the members of the Friday Night Gang; her special niece Nan Despres; the various Wayne Lane neighbors who came and went over the years; her "adopted family members" Brian and Marge Pond; and the many caring and thoughtful staff members at Matulaitis Nursing Home, who went out of their ways to make her final moments peaceful, spiritual, and comfortable. As for all the other hearts and lives she touched in her own special way, you know who you are.
Karen's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad Street., Meriden, Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Our Lady of Mt.
