Judith M. Wrobel, 80, beloved wife of the late Alfred B. "Punky" Wrobel, died on Tuesday March 8, 2016 at The Regency House.

Born on December 20, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (DeMaria) Handel. A longtime resident of Meriden, Judith attended local schools and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was employed as a case worker for the State of Connecticut from where she retired. Judith was a dedicated advocate for educational rights of the Developmentally Disabled. She started a program for babies and mothers in Meriden and was involved in Special Olympics. Judith loved music, she played the saxophone and had her own radio show on WMMW. She was past President of the Maloney Band Boosters. Judith enjoyed taking trips to Mohegan Sun. She was a strong, determined and kind individual who will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Wrobel is survived by her daughters: Regina J. Wrobel of North Haven and Maria W. Putnam and her husband David of Meriden; two sisters: Valerie Cousino of Meriden, Marybeth Gosse of FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Alfred B. Wrobel, Jr. and sister Sharon Plunske.

Her family would like to thank the Regency House for the excellent care given to Judith.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday March 13th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and attend her funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
