Josephine (Kos) McConnell, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 7, 2014 at MidState Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born on March 18, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Marosz) Kos. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Josephine attended St. Stanislaus School, Meriden High School and was a life long parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. She was employed by the New Departure Division of General Motors Corp. from where she retired. Josephine truly enjoyed the companionship and friendship of her immediate and extended family. She was a compassionate and caring woman, who donated regularly to numerous charitable organizations. Josephine looked forward to attending her weekly Setback Card Players sessions. She was an avid fan of the UCONN Men's and Women's basketball teams. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Josephine will be greatly missed. Mrs. McConnell is survived by her loving daughter Elizabeth (Bundock) and her husband Henry of Glastonbury; her grandson Brian Bundock of New York City; granddaughter Kimberly (Bundock) Ambrosio and her husband Ken of Trumbull; two great grandsons: Nicholas and Evan Ambrosio of Trumbull; a brother Raymond Kos and his wife Mary of Meriden; a sister Lois (Kos) Dominello and her late husband Ray of Meriden; three nephews: George Dominello, Raymond Kos Jr. and Gregory Kos; three nieces: Lynn (Dominello) Iwanicki, Carol Jane Mikowski, and Patricia (Mikowski) Detol. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Sally (Kos) and Peter Mikowski Sr.; her sister Jeanette Kos; two brothers: Edward Kos and Joseph Kos and a nephew Peter Mikowski, Jr. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of MidState Medical Center and The Meriden Center Nursing Facility, for the professionalism, thoughtfulness and excellent care provided to Josephine during her illness.
