Obituary

Josephine (Sosnowski) Doron, 99, beloved wife of the late John F. Doron died peacefully on Saturday March 31, 2018 at the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden.

Born on March 20, 1919, Josephine was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Hawrylishyn) Sosnowski. A longtime resident of Meriden, she attended local schools. Josephine was employed as a secretary at Long Lane School in Middletown where she retired after 10 years of service. A loyal and faithful parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, she was an active member participating in numerous parish activities including the Meriden Council of Catholic Women, the Holy Rosary Society, the Sunshine Club, St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild, St. Theresa Society, St. Hedwig Society and the Sacred Heart Society. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Rectory of St. Stanislaus Church. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Mrs. Doron is survived by her six grandchildren: Larry Gregg and his wife Jessica and their children Zachary and Javier, Andrew Gregg and his wife Ann all of Meriden, Michael Doron, Michele Doron both of West Haven, Daphne (Teittinen) Schreck and her husband Dan of Trumbull , Daryl Teittinen and his wife Christina of Truckee, CA; two great grandsons: Justin and Mathew Doron both of West Haven; her sons-in-law: Laurence Gregg of Rocky Hill, Robert Teittinen & his wife Joelene of Litchfield and many nieces, nephews and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters: Patricia Gregg, Linda Teittinen; her son John S. Doron and his wife Maureen; her brothers: Stanley J. Sosnowski and his wife Mary, Michael E. Sosnowski and his wife Florence; two sisters: Wanda Carabetta and her husband William, Barbara Rutkowski and her husband Peter and grandson John M. Doron.

Her funeral will be held on Friday April 6th at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday evening April 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
