Joseph R. Roy, 83, beloved husband of the late Geraldine E. (Maresca) Roy died Friday January 13, 2012 at the Sharon Hospital. Born in Detroit, MI on December 9, 1928 he was the son of the late Ovila and Ann Marie Roy. Joseph was a longtime resident of Kensington before relocating to Middletown then Farmington. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Joseph was a graduate of General Motors Institute of Technology. He was employed as a mechanical engineer by Alcoa from where he retired after many years of service. Joseph enjoyed spending time relaxing outdoors, admiring nature. Mr. Roy is survived by his six sons: Rene Roy and his wife Carolyn of NH, Mark Roy and his wife Jenifer of Kensington, Robert Roy and his wife Karen of Middletown, Raymond Roy and his wife Laurie of Bristol, Alfred Roy and his wife Jodi of FL and Christopher Roy and his wife Jennifer of Farmington; his daughter Jennifer Roy of Plainville; two brothers: Rod and Lucien Roy; a sister Doris Madaio; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers Paul and Roger Roy.
