Obituary

Joseph (Bruce) Marks, 86, died on Sunday January 3, 2016 at MidState Medical Center.

He was the husband of Frances (Arots) Marks, his loving wife of 58 years.

Born on March 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mae (Bruce) Marks. Bruce was a lifelong resident of Meriden. He attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. Bruce proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as Director of Public Works for the City of Meriden, from where he retired after many years of service. Bruce loved the outdoors especially gardening or tending to his yard. A beloved husband, father and grandfather he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Marks is survived by his children: Susan Marks and her partner Mark Birdschge of Southington, Joseph P. Marks and his partner Joann Regan of Salem, John B. Marks and his wife Tanya of Higganum; his cherished grandson Bretton Marks and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held on Saturday morning January 9th at 9:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday morning January 9th from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.at the Stempien Funeral Home.
