Jose Elgado Gonzalez, Jr., 34, beloved husband of Ivettemari (Fraticelli) Gonzalez passed away unexpectedly on Thursday December 5, 2019 in Florida.

Born on August 11, 1985 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the cherished son of Jose E. Gonzalez, Sr. and Maria Cordero. Jose was a longtime resident of Meriden and a graduate of Platt High School Class of 2003. In high school he was a member of the Cheerleading Squad, Football and Track Teams. He proudly served in the United States Army. Jose was employed as a CNA. A loving son, husband, father, brother and friend, Jose will be greatly missed.

Jose is survived by his children: Joshua E. Gonzalez, Adrian L. Gonzalez, Josias E. Gonzalez, Lismari Fraticelli, Lyairah Barbosa all of Meriden; three brothers and a sister: Jonathan E. Gonzalez and his wife Jesenia, Jeremy Sanchez, Treyvon Briggs, Natasha L. Gonzalez all of Meriden; his maternal grandmother Noemi Sanchez of Puerto Rico; his Godparents, Juan Gonzalez, Jr. and Maida Concepcion both of Puerto Rico and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Antonio Cordero and paternal grandparents, Carmello and Elba I. Gonzalez.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday December 14th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and attend his funeral service with Military Honors at 4:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
