Jon N. Robinson, 76, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday March 10, 2016. He was the husband of Linda A. (Santos) Robinson, his loving wife of 26 years.
Born on December 12, 1939 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Bradford and Taka (Ianmi) Robinson. Jon grew up in Milford where he attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Jon was a longtime resident of Meriden and parishioner of Holy Angels Church. He was an avid sports fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Jon enjoyed meeting up with his good friends for coffee at McDonalds. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. A beloved husband, father and grandfather Jon will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children: Kim Zimmer and her husband Kevin of Southington, Brian Kelleher and his wife Celina of Cromwell, Michael Kelleher of Meriden, Brendan Kelleher and his wife Amaris of Meriden, Jon Robinson Jr. and his wife Linda of FL, Debbie Gaglione of West Haven, Denise Treiber of Branford; his brother in-law and sister in-law Tom Rowland and his wife Donna of IL; 14 grandchildren: Brooke, Makenzie and Karly Zimmer, Owen, Peyton, Dawson, Manny, Vivian, Carter and Camdyn Kelleher, Savanah Robinson, Ashley Allen (Roland), Amber Faircloth (Allen) and Matthew Porter; 3 great grandchildren: Cruz and Lena Allen and Kroy Faircloth; two nieces: Kris Atwell (Corey), Kim Fruehling (Chris) and a nephew T.J. Rowland all from IL. He was predeceased by his sister Jane Harris.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rajani Nadkarni and the staff at MidState Medical Center, Westfield Care & Rehab Center and HHC at Home Hospice Care for the excellent and compassionate care given to Mr. Robinson and his family.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday March 16th at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to Holy Angels Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in the State Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
